Filming Issues

I booked a camera over the half time in order to finish my filming. However, my actor decided to go to London with his dad for the week so he was not free at all. I have notified that it is a matter of urgency to finish the filming as the deadline is rapidly approaching.

Digipack Front Cover Research

1. This simple cover from The Killers is very effective and is all you really need from an album cover. Which is the name of the band, the name of the album and an interesting image that will catch the audiences eye.

2. This Courteeners album cover is from their hit album 'Anna' and his friend who does an art blog drew it. Liam Fray, the lead singer of the band said that he just likes the look of his friends drawings and this one in particular was ideal for the album. I really like this cover as it is strange and not really conventional.

3. This Libertines album cover was frowned upon by many as it appears to be Pete Doherty preparing for an injection of heroin. Drugs are a reoccurring theme for bands of this genre and in particular The Libertines. Due to this I decided to call me album 'Inject Me'.

4. Another simple album cover, effective in it's own way but didn't really catch my eye. This is just an example of what I wouldn't want my album cover to look like; cheap, boring and amateur.

5. When conducting this research this album cover really caught my eye, this is because even though it just looks boring and simple; it connotes all The Beatles were about. It's not just plain and simple, it reiterates the point that the band are not like everybody else and were against the idea of conformity. This is why they stood against conventions and created such a unique album cover. When looking deeper into into the cover I discovered that it was too simple to copyright.

6. This album cover comes from the band who's song I am creating a music video for. The outstanding piece of art created by John Squire for the cover was influenced by the famous artist of the 19th century Jackson Pollock. John Squire was a huge fan of Pollock and took inspiration from his drip painting style and decided to recreate it. This image and style of art became a huge part of the bands iconographic image.

Inspiration- I was inspired by this cover from The Libertines for their album 'Up the Bracket'. Thiis is because it implied the same message that I was trying to achieve from my product. Which is that due to modernisation, Britain is becoming fragmented and being overshadowed by the USA. Even the song names written on the flag promote this message, for example 'the good old days', 'radio America' and 'time for the heroes'.

Next deadline

As the next deadline is on Friday 13th February, it is going to be extremely difficult for me to meet. This is because my actor is going to New York and therefore will not be free to film new footage for my video. To attempt to avoid this I will be trying to film as much as possible this weekend whilst I still can.
Another issue is that my Film Studies draft is also due on Monday 9th February, so this has equal importance. As both of my products require the same actor the deadline is going to be difficult to meet. However I will try my utmost best to stay on top of my coursework.
